From the Winston-Salem Journal:

The city council last week approved $500,000 to help with the financing of the renovation of Drayton Pines Apartments on Bohannon Park Circle in North Ward…

At Drayton Pines, there are 44 duplex-style apartments in a residential setting. The improvements will involve giving the units a complete makeover: tearing out a wall to open up the living and kitchen areas, redoing the kitchen with new appliances, putting on new roofs and siding – even new asphalt and curbing outside…

The current estimate is that it will take about $3.7 million to carry out the renovations. In addition to the $500,000 in financing from the city – which will be paid back – the project would be supported by a $2.7 loan from Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital and other funding sources, including BB&T Bank.
